Common Founder Issue
I decided to make my very first blog post this one because it’s the link that I send the most to founders. The topics “what matters most to my startup?” and “how should we think about competition?” are endlessly fascinating to me because startups by nature have very limited resources, so focusing on what matters is the most important thing. In this same vein, this podcast caught my attention because it dives even deeper into why worrying about competition isn’t a good use of time. Aaron of YC says “startups are most often killed by the apathy of the market or you run out of time."
Here's similar sentiment tweeted recently by Peter Stacho of SpeakPage and another one by Blake Byrnes.
This podcasts answers “how should we think about the competition?” My next blog post will touch on the importance of spending time to figure-out “what matters most to my startup?"
Context
At this point in the podcast Pete of Optimizely is talking about launching a business in a space where products already exist.
